The prestigious Valle del Sol Golf Course sits on 137 hectares of land, at
an elevation of 900m. Golf players, who have been givin the oppertunity to
play here, enjoy an elegant game in tune with nature, scenic beauty and the
exceptional Santa Ana weather.
Built inside of the exclusive Parque Valle del Sol residential area, the
golf course was designed by the well known north American architect Tracy
May. Situated in the Santa Ana Valley and 10 minutes from San Jose and the
Juan Santa Maria International airport. Course completed by end of 1997.
Valle del Sol is a beautiful 18 hole, Par
72, championship golf course surrounded by garden settings in Costa Rica’s
Central Valley. This 7,011 yard course has excellent views of Costa Rica’s
Irazu, Barva and Poas volcanoes to the north and San Jose’s majestic
mountain ranges to the west. Valle del Sol has a distinctive tropical
atmosphere, with it’s impressive mountain views, intensely flowering gardens
and the fifteen separate large lakes that attract wild life is home to more
than 20 different bird species.
The layout is diverse and requires the use of all the clubs in your bag. The
rolling hills, mature trees that were part of the original course and the
surrounding mountains and bird sanctuary create a great setting for golf.
The course has 6 lakes and lots of wetlands to test the skills. Mature trees
line the fairways. There will be 4 to 5 tees for each hole. #6 hole will
have 6 tees, 2 will be on an island.
The uniquely sculpted greens of Bermuda grass roll fast and true.
Strategically placed fairway bunkers and greenside sand traps make the
course an exciting challenge. With at least four individual tee positions to
play on every hole, this course presents a fun and memorable experience for
all those fortunate to have the opportunity to play here.
Valle del Sol has an excellent on-site driving range, and professional golf
instructions are also available if desired. Excellent sets of golf clubs are
available for rent.
