Diving in Costa Rica is very different from other diving destinations. Costa Rica's plankton - rich waters provide surprises at every dive site. The local dive sites are abundant with many varieties of schooling fish, rays, white-tip reef sharks, several species of eels, sea turtles, bull sharks, octopus, sea horses, amberjack reaching 70lb, harlequin clown shrimp, spiny puffer fish, delicate sea fans, frog fish and swim along side great schools of barracuda.

Costa Rica is also an excellent place to learn how to scuba dive, since most dive centers offer inexpensive certification courses in English that can be completed in less than a week. With professional PADI instruction courses as well as top quality dive shops with equipment rental services.

From the Hermosa Beach area, you can easily hike through a misty cloud forest, zip along the treetop on a canopy tour or mountain bike through dense, lowland forest. Scuba dive with the majesty of beatiful manta rays, fish for record-breaking marlin or glide through the Pacific on a catamaran.
